GEROtherm® DUPLEX - Heating/­cooling system W22 and W23 Zurich Airport depot

Near slope area on the green area are placed the geothermal probes for energy generation of the new heating /­ cooling supply. Each geothermal probe (double U-pipe) can be individually shut off and throttled at the geothermal probe distributor. The geothermal probe distributors are installed in a buried shaft next to the geothermal probe field.

The supply lines from the borehole heat exchangers to the distributor are installed in trenches. The distribution shaft is installed stably on a separate concrete foundation. The dimensions of the distribution shaft are approx. 5m in length and 2.6m in depth. After connecting the supply lines, a pressure distribution plate was concreted over the distribution manhole.
The penetrations must be tight up to a water pressure of 10 mWs.

Each probe circuit is monitored by special temperature sensors. This allows a change in temperature to be detected quickly. The distribution shaft is equipped with lighting with external power supply. Furthermore, a CO2 warning light was also installed at the manhole entrance.
