The area where once stood the factory yard for the Royal Dutch Factory of Tools and Railway Equipment is the basis for a pleasant and relaxed living and working center. This will create a district with a varied mix of apartments and apartments with a particularly relaxed atmosphere.
Brine-water heat pumps will be used for heat generation and cooling. A total of 351 boreholes will be drilled throughout the site. Since a drilling depth limit of 50 meters applies in this region due to the groundwater table, a total of 351 GEROtherm® REX geothermal probes with a length of 50m will be sunk. Since the soil is contaminated by old pollution from a former laundry, it was decided to use GEROtherm® REX geothermal probes. The embedded
barrier layer based on a metallic material, prevents the contaminated soil from attacking the PE100-RC core pipe and impairing its service life.
GEROtherm® REX The fully diffusion-tight geothermal probe
The completely diffusion-tight geothermal probe GEROtherm® REX prevents the penetration of gaseous substances into the heat transfer medium. GER0therm® REX thus ensures the proper operation of the heat pump and protects it from damage due to outgassing. Diffusion tightness is achieved by a polymer matrix film with embedded diffusion barrier. A scratch-resistant protective jacket is also applied as mechanical protection. This innovation from HakaGerodur is patent pending.
