GEROtherm® Energy piles / Geostructures

Geostructures are part of shallow geothermal energy. Geostructures are building components that are in direct contact with the ground and can conduct heat. These include, for example, so-called energy piles, base slabs, or the walls of basements and underground garages. Geostructures utilize the subsurface beneath buildings. Geostructures can be used for heating and cooling. Energy piles, for example, are used when a building's foundation needs to be secured. Geostructures are integrated into new buildings (single-family or multi-family houses, office buildings, or larger building complexes, etc.). Foundation piles can be fitted with geothermal heat exchangers, enabling buildings to be supplied with heat in winter and cold in summer.

Advantages

  • The material grade PE 100-RC is very well suited for energy pile applications due to its excellent properties regarding stress cracking resistance and resistance versus point loads.
  • No additional space required.
  • Integration into essential structural components (piles, base slabs, basement walls).
  • GEROtherm® energy piles can be supplied both as a roll for equipping the piles and as a short probe.
