GEROtherm® DUPLEX-REX - Residential buildings on Lake Constance

On the shore of Lake Constance, new, radiant residential buildings are being built.

The residential buildings are heated and cooled by brine-water heat pump. 6 GEROtherm® REX geothermal probes of 165 meters were sunk. Due to the geology and the gas occurrences it was decided to install the GEROtherm® REX.

The company "HASTAG St. Gallen Bau AG", specialized for boreholes for geothermal probes, was on site and executed the boreholes professionally. Thanks to good preparation, the 165m deep boreholes were completed quickly. Following the sinking, the boreholes were backfilled with a special hydraulic binder containing natural raw materials such as clay and bentonite. Each geothermal probe was tested and recorded by means of a digital measuring device for pressure and flow testing (according to SIA 384/6), which was specially developed for geothermal probe systems.

The borehole heat exchanger is connected in the building by means of a collector/distributor SAVE 125. The collectors are equipped with regulating valves: inline setters and the distributors with high-quality plastic ball valves. Each SAVE can be shut off individually by means of a DN80 shut-off valve, and they also have a filling and draining tap, thermometer and air vent.
